Historic volcanoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, snow storms, rain storms, wind storms, tropical cyclones, tsunamis- both the frequency and magnitude. The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) states that climate and weather-related disasters surged five-fold over the last 50 years.

Weather Patterns

Russia & Ukraine are still at war after one year; Israel & Palestine battling for years over a land issue; Iran, China & Russia are against Israel and the U.S.; China trying to claim Taiwan; there are enemies everywhere in the world.

Wars & Rumors of War

Covid 19, Ebola, Hepatitis A & E, Typhoid, Malaria, and Yellow Fever, to name a few of the 18 diseases that are current threats to many countries of the world. Covid 19 is considered the worse pandemic in the world since the Spanish Flu of 1918-1920.

Birth Pangs:
The Hour Is Near

All five of these global issues have become more common and of greater magnitude than at any other time in history when combined. Jesus told His disciples on the Mount of Olives that all these things mentioned above would be the sign of the end of the world as we know it and His coming for the church in the Rapture.

The disciples asked Him when this would happen and Jesus replied that all these are the beginning of birth pangs (using the analogy of a woman in labor). So, the birth pangs are getting worse every decade and certain political and global issues seem to be drawing us closer to a confrontation of the greatest magnitude ever seen on earth- leading to Armageddon.

This is all outlined in the Book of Revelation and even in Old Testament prophecies from over 2000 years ago. One example of the unbelievable accuracy of John’s account in Revelation was that he referred to the power in the east with an army of one million.

There weren’t even one million people in the world when John made that statement but here we are today with China as the only country and they are from the East that has an army of about 1 million, the largest Navy in the world, and the third largest Air Force. You can just read the news every day now and see how China, North Korea, Iran, and Russia are moving toward the End Times.

It's Time To Look Up

What’s happening in Israel right now is such a vivid example of a prophesied end times event that it should touch us, personally. First, I want to say I don’t want to get into the media stories about the Harvard and MIT responses to this war but let’s just fixate on the fact that the Palestinian militants from Gaza, known as Hamas, are trained and financed by Iran who are chummy with Russia and other Israeli enemies. The Hamas invaded Israel on one of its joyous religious holidays and chopped off the heads of Israelite children and burned them and raped young women and married women in the broadest invasions of Israel in 50 years. They kidnapped young children and elders as hostages and indiscriminately massacred young adults dancing at a rave. This is considered a war crime. They infiltrated 22 Israeli towns and army bases, kidnapping Israeli citizens and soldiers and firing thousands of rockets toward cities as far away as Jerusalem.

A few days later Israel ordered a complete siege of the Gaza Strip as it retaliated for the deadly invasion by the militants from Gaza. They told the civilians to leave the area because there would be no electricity, no food, no fuel for the 2 million Palestinians living there. Hamas is a terrorist organization that has controlled the Gaza Strip since 2007.

According to the FBI and “crime tracking” organizations, the hate crimes against Jews and Muslims have escalated locally and internationally since the start of the war in the Middle East and this has increased the concerns over the risk of more serious reprisals. “Many do not want peaceful coexistence,” the Islamic Society of Boston said in a statement. They have called for an open dialogue and mutual respect among different groups. Unfortunately, more voices are coming to the world stage that are encouraging more violence and as the world dives into further societal decay the voices will increase until the time -soon coming- when God intervenes and changes the world as we now know it.

Zhang Youxia, the second ranking military official in China stated that the United States was the primary factor behind the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. China has been targeting the United States and Taiwan with war talk saying “Show No Mercy,” Both these bits of information show the increasing tension with the alliance of China and Russia against Israel and the United States.

The Bible prophecies about the end times have the end centered around Jerusalem- not Iran, not Russia, Not Paris or New York, but Jerusalem. The Bible tells us that the Jewish people would be scattered around the world but miraculously would regather and in 1948 with Israel becoming a nation the end times clock started ticking. Remember there were six million Jews who lost their lives in the Holocaust so it’s hard to imagine that they could gather again in their homeland.

In Ezekiel 37 and 38, the Lord said she would come under attack. It mentions a large nation from the north attacking her. This force is identified as Magog which has always been somewhat of a mystery but Biblical scholars and prophecy teachers just point to a map that shows a large country north of Israel called Russia and that one of her allies would be Persia (today known as Iran). These two countries did nothing together for 2500 years but today they are very close. Russia supplies Iran with a billion dollars worth of missiles and Iran sends Russia weaponized drones.

What is Israel’s claim to the Gaza Strip? The Bible associates Gaza mainly with the Philistines. God had given the city to Judah, but the Israelites had failed to obey God in driving out the former occupants of Canaan (Numbers 33:51–53). Because of that disobedience, the Philistines and the city of Gaza remained a thorn in Israel’s side for centuries (see Judges 2:3).

It would not be until 1948 that the modern nation of Israel was established following World War II. Now, more than sixty years later, Israel has become a thriving nation and the longest-established democracy in the Middle East. Yet many of its neighbors remain hostile, and a Palestinian movement seeks to develop its own nation within the borders of modern Israel’s territory.

The Bible teaches that God will eventually fulfill the promise to give Israel full control over the Promised Land. Israel’s full territory will ultimately be ruled by the Messiah during the Millennium (Revelation 20:1–6). God’s promises, partly fulfilled throughout history, will have complete, literal, fulfillment prior to God’s creation of new heavens and new earth (Revelation 21-22; Psalm 72:8).

What do we do as Christians? Jesus said in Luke 21:28 When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads because your redemption is drawing near.”

Translated…Be looking for the soon return of Jesus Christ!

Other Incidents Of The Past Few Months That Are Signs Of The Time

Climate: This year is on track to be the world's hottest recorded month. Since June 2023 every month has ranked as the hottest since records were taken. There’s a 95% chance that 2024 will be recorded as hotter than 2023 and the hottest since the early 1800s when global temperatures were first recorded.

Two major earthquakes in Afghanistan have killed 813 people so far, making the dual shocks one of the deadliest natural disasters to hit the country in decades. At least seven tremors followed the initial quakes. Many villages were completely destroyed.

The drought in Brazil’s Amazon is making people there fearful of the future because the rainforest waterways are stranded without food, fuel, or filtered water. This is being caused by a severe drought causing deforestation of the Amazon. Experts claim that Brazilians are now living in an altered climate that oscillates between extreme events-either droughts or heavy rains.

Violence: Gangs have been rampaging through Haiti’s capital and over 33,000 people have been displaced. Most of them will travel to Haiti’s southern region which is generally more peaceful than Port-au-Prince which has a population of 3 million and is just paralyzed by these gangs. Imagine a capital city taken over by gangs and forcing residents to move away. Another sign of the times.

Society/Technology: The jobs company ResumeBuilder recently pooled 750 business leaders that plan to use AI in 2024. Close to one half predicted AI will lead to layoffs. This means that an entire industry and millions of careers could be turned upside down.

Recently there was a global software outage that hampered air travel throughout the world. Supposedly it was not a security incident or cyberattack, but all computer screens were blocked, and a blue color appeared on the screens which in the industry is known a the “Blue Screen of Death” and there are problems with computers trying to reboot and crashing before they can be updated. The only solution appears to be manual intervention.

We Are Getting Closer To The End

How much longer can we witness all these “bad news” events before we realize that God has got to destroy this earth and create a new and better one? The convergence of all the events below- racism, wars, hatred, wildfires, extreme rain and heat, volcanoes, tornadoes, mass shootings - are giving us the ending of a 2000 year odyssey that started with a cross and will end with an unbelievable show of power as the church (believers) will reside in heaven with our Lord, Jesus Christ and then start the millennium with our new home moving to earth from heaven with headquarters in Jerusalem, with Jesus in command. Yes, there have been all these bad news events in our past, but the keyword is “convergence” in that never have we seen them come together in such dramatic fashion. Aren’t we all saying, “What in the world is going on?”

The Rapture

There are two future comings of Jesus-one FOR His Church (The Rapture) and one WITH His church (the Second Coming). The Rapture has Jesus in the clouds and not touching the earth and the Second Coming has Him coming down and touching the earth.

The controversy as to whether the Rapture comes before the Tribulation, after the Tribulation, at the halfway mark of the Tribulation (3 ½ years), or even exists, is decidedly before the Tribulation-if you take the Bible literally and in context. The compelling reasons are listed below:

● God Promises in many scriptures that He doesn’t intend to have His saints suffer during the horrible Tribulation. One of the scriptures is 1 Thessalonians 1:10 which states “we are waiting for His Son from heaven…who will deliver us from the wrath to come.” And in Revelation 3:10 the church at Philadelphia, which is representative of faithful Christians, is told that those who persevere in the Lord will be kept “from the hour of testing,” that hour which will “come upon the whole world.”

● Also, the Church is not mentioned in Revelation after chapter 3 and in Chapter 4 we see John raptured to heaven to the throne of God from the isle of Patmos. In Revelation 11 the door of heaven opens again, and Jesus emerges riding a white horse on His way to earth, followed by His Church. (Revelation 19:14).

● The logic of imminence: We are told repeatedly in the Scriptures that the coming of the Lord is imminent- that it can take place at any moment. The clear force of these persistent warnings is that Jesus can appear at any moment. If the Rapture occurred at any other time except for before the Tribulation His coming wouldn’t be uncertain. We know that if some believe the Rapture occurs mid–trib then we know it’s at the halfway point of 7 years and if it’s at the end of the Tribulation (post-Trib) everyone would know when He’s coming.

Plagues, Pandemics, War, Earthquakes, Tornadoes, Fires, Floods, Volcanoes, Famine…
